Annual Financial Statements are an annually produced, yearly set of financial statements for a company. Most countries in the world require that all companies must produce annual financial statements to keep record of the company’s financial performance. It is also important for tax purposes. Mostly bigger companies need to be audited, and the auditor have to verify and sign these financials off as giving a true reflection of the company’s financial performance for the last year and its financial standing and financial position as at Balance Sheet date.  A set of Annual Financial Statements at minimum consists of an Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cashflow Statement, together with notes explaining the various items in the AFS.

 

An Annual Report is a more reader friendly version of the Annual Financial Statements with more user friendly graphs and statistics, as well as extra financial information added to the pure Annual Financial Statements.
